The Federal Capital Territory Minister has dismissed fears that early moves ahead of the 2027 elections could distract him from delivering projects across Abuja.

He gave the assurance during an inspection tour of ongoing works in different parts of the city, saying development remains his top focus.

He said political discussions and public service are separate duties, adding that his responsibility is to ensure residents feel the impact of governance.

According to him, election talks have their time, while project delivery must continue without delay through proper funding and close supervision.


During the tour, the minister expressed satisfaction with progress on the road connecting Baze University, the Body of Benchers, Nile University and the Wupa Light Rail Station in Idu.

He also reviewed work on the Body of Benchers extension building, which he said was nearly finished, and inspected a 7km road linking Airport Road with Tunga Madaki and nearby communities. He added that plans were underway to extend the road to Zuba, keeping faith with earlier promises to residents.
