Court Dismisses Evidence On Tinubu

COMMENCEMENT OF ENFORCEMENT ACTIONS ON DEFAULTERS OF GROUND RENT PAYMENTS, LAND USE CONVERSION FEE, C-OF-O BILLS In The Federal Capital Territory

A Federal High Court in Abuja has turned down material presented by activist and former presidential candidate Omoyele Sowore in his ongoing cybercrime case.

The court ruled on Wednesday that the document could not stand as valid evidence.

The disputed material centred on a claim that President Bola Tinubu, during the 2011 election period, referred to former President Goodluck Jonathan as drunkard. Sowore had relied on the claim as part of his defence before the court.

According to the exhibit, Tinubu was also alleged to have described Jonathan as a sinking fisherman during the same period.

The court, however, declined to accept the document, saying it failed to meet the required standard for admission.

The ruling means the claim will not form part of the case as proceedings continue in Abuja. Sowore is currently facing trial over allegations linked to cybercrime.
