The order affects major markets recently identified as still observing the Monday sit-at-home, despite repeated government appeals to resume normal trading. The state government said the decision was taken to protect livelihoods and restore steady commercial flow.

According to officials, the affected markets are expected to operate without restriction every Monday, in line with existing laws and government directives. Traders were warned that failure to comply would not be tolerated.

The government made it clear that any market found shut on Mondays would face temporary closure as a sanction. Authorities said this measure is intended to enforce compliance, not to punish traders unnecessarily.

The state government maintained that continued closures hurt businesses, reduce income for traders, and weaken the wider economy. It urged market leaders and traders to cooperate fully, stressing that normal business activities are in the best interest of residents and the state.
