FG announces 2026 foreign scholarship Opportunities
The 2026 Petroleum Technology Development Fund overseas scholarship, giving Nigerian postgraduate students a chance to study in selected foreign countries.
The announcement was made on Monday through a post by the Office of the Special Adviser to the President on Social Media.
The scholarship covers study opportunities in the United Kingdom, Germany, France and Malaysia under the PTDF programme.
The fund explained that the offer is open to MSc and PhD candidates in oil and gas–related disciplines.
Successful applicants will have their tuition paid and also receive return flight tickets, accommodation support, living allowances, health insurance and bench fees where required.
Factors to be considered include academic records, research proposals, professional memberships and how relevant the chosen course is to Nigeria’s oil and gas sector.
Applicants for the MSc programme must have at least a Second Class Lower degree, completed NYSC, basic computer skills and five O-Level credits including English and Mathematics.
PhD applicants are required to submit a detailed research proposal, while all candidates must have a valid National Identity Number. Applications close on February 27, 2026.
