Nigeria’s Supreme Court will on Friday, January 16, 2026, give its decision in the long-running ₦1.35 billion fraud case involving former Jigawa State governor Sule Lamido and his son, Mustapha.

The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission confirmed the development on Thursday.
The case centers on allegations that Lamido, while serving as governor between 2007 and 2015, was linked to money laundering involving state funds.
