Oyo State Governor Seyi Makinde on Monday appointed and swore in Musibau Babatunde as the new Secretary to the State Government, marking a key change in his administration as it enters a new phase.

The swearing-in took place in Ibadan following a cabinet reshuffle announced earlier in January, which saw the former SSG, Olanike Adeyemo, relieved of her duties. The governor described the change as a routine step aimed at strengthening governance, stressing that the former SSG committed no wrongdoing.
Makinde said Babatunde, a Professor of Economics at the University of Ibadan, was chosen based on experience and long-standing involvement in the administration, not religious or regional considerations.
