The action was announced by the Joint Union Action Congress representing workers across FCTA departments and agencies.
The ultimatum took effect on January 7, 2026, after union leaders said repeated talks with management failed to produce results. The workers warned that industrial action would begin once the deadline expires if their demands remain unattended.
The notice was issued in Abuja and copied to top officials within the FCT Administration to draw attention to the growing tension across the system. Union leaders said the step followed internal consultations and approval by affiliate unions.

The workers are demanding the payment of outstanding wage award arrears, release of approved overhead funds, and proper remittance of pension and housing deductions. They also raised concerns over delayed promotions, unpaid allowances for health workers, and poor working conditions in several units.
The unions said frustration among workers has reached a breaking point due to months of unpaid entitlements and stalled welfare issues. They have directed members to stay alert and united, warning that failure to act swiftly could disrupt activities across the nation’s capital.
