Residents across Kano State raised thousands of concerns in 2025 as the Hisbah Board received 12,446 complaints spanning social, civil, and criminal matters across the state’s 44 local government areas.

The cases were reported throughout the year by individuals seeking help on family disputes, debt issues, child support, and public order concerns, reflecting growing reliance on the board for mediation and enforcement of moral laws.

According to the Deputy Commander of the Hisbah Board, Dr Mujahiddeen Aminuddeen, the agency resolved 1,908 cases through its headquarters in Kano and its offices at the local government level.
He said the board also helped residents recover more than ₦145.4 million through debt recovery efforts and child support mediation, easing financial burdens on many families.

During enforcement activities, Hisbah officers carried out nine major operations and arrested 132 suspects in different parts of the state and nearby areas over the course of the year.
The board also recorded 4,246 criminal cases, which were handed over to the police and other security agencies for further investigation, while urging continued cooperation from government bodies and community leaders to sustain peace and social order in Kano.
