After the talks, neither faction backed down. The Makinde camp said it would continue running party affairs while awaiting court decisions, insisting that leadership matters remain internal and subject to judicial review.
The Wike-aligned group also held its line, arguing that reconciliation can only happen if pending court cases are withdrawn, warning that continued division could weaken the party ahead of key elections scheduled for 2026.
