The session held at the Presidential Villa, where the President arrived at 6:05pm to formally open proceedings. It was the party’s second NEC meeting of 2025.
The gathering came weeks after Prof. Nentawe Yilwatda emerged as APC national chairman in July, making it his first NEC meeting in that capacity. An opening Christian prayer was led by Taraba State Governor Agbu Kefas.
Several serving and former governors were present, alongside principal officers of the National Assembly. The venue also hosted six governors who recently defected from the Peoples Democratic Party to the APC.
The NEC meeting serves as the party’s highest decision-making platform between conventions, where leaders set direction on party affairs, internal management, and future election plans.
