The platform was announced by the commission through its corporate communications unit as part of efforts to reduce stress faced by applicants at physical enrolment centres.

With the new system, applicants can enter their personal details online before visiting a registration centre, where only biometric capture will be completed.
The commission said the move is meant to cut down long queues, shorten waiting time, and improve the overall experience for people seeking to obtain their NIN.
The portal also allows users to book appointments, upload required documents, and ensure better accuracy since data is entered directly by applicants under secure conditions.
NIMC added that the initiative supports the federal government’s push for digital public services and urged Nigerians to use the portal as a simpler route to NIN registration.
