The suit targets Governor Dapo Abiodun and five others involved in the chieftaincy process, including officials of Ijebu Ode Local Government, the state ministry in charge of chieftaincy affairs, and leaders of the Awujale succession council and ruling house.

The legal move followed K1’s declared interest in the vacant Awujale stool, a position left open after the passing of the former monarch, and the rejection of his claim by members of the Fusengbuwa Ruling House.

The musician says he belongs to the Jadiara Royal House within the Fusengbuwa lineage, while the ruling house disputes this claim, insisting he has no ancestral link to the family entitled to present a candidate.

Through a motion filed on December 16, K1 is asking the court for an interim order to halt all actions on the selection process until the main case is heard and decided.

He told the court the request is meant to protect his interest and prevent any step that could affect the outcome of the case, as the court is yet to fix a date for hearing.
