The state government said the decision followed growing concerns over unethical practices, weak asset declaration, misuse of office, and financial mismanagement that have slowed development at the local level.

The administration explained that strict adherence to the Code of Conduct is meant to restore public trust, improve service delivery, and ensure that government resources are used for the benefit of communities.

The training, organised in collaboration with the Code of Conduct Bureau and legal experts, is expected to guide officials on proper compliance and strengthen accountability as the state deepens reforms in local government administration.
