Oyo APC Blames Makinde For PDP Troubles

The Oyo State chapter of the All Progressives Congress has told Nigerians to place responsibility for the Peoples Democratic Party’s struggles on Governor Seyi Makinde, not President Bola Tinubu.

The party made its position known through its Publicity Secretary, Olawale Sadare, who accused Makinde of contributing to the collapse of the opposition party in the South.

The APC argued that PDP leaders failed to address internal problems early, allowing Makinde to gain control of the party’s structure. According to the statement, the governor lacked the experience needed to guide a national party and eventually became the force that pushed the PDP into its current weak state.

The party noted that Makinde is now the only PDP governor in Southern Nigeria, with just a few remaining in the North. It said this should raise concerns about what role he has played in the party’s decline and why many of his former colleagues have moved on.

The APC added that the governor cannot revive the party in its current condition and urged PDP members to question his leadership approach. It insisted that President Tinubu should be left to focus on national governance rather than being dragged into the internal issues of the opposition.
