The Nigeria Civil Aviation Authority is preparing sanctions against social media influencer VeryDarkMan and comedian Mr Jollof after a fight broke out between them on a United Nigeria Airlines flight from Asaba to Lagos on Monday.
The clash, which startled passengers and disrupted cabin order, followed an ongoing online feud between the two men. Their argument reportedly escalated mid-air, forcing crew members and travellers to step in as the situation grew chaotic inside the aircraft.
NCAA’s Director of Public Affairs and Consumer Protection, Michael Achimugu, described the incident as unacceptable and dangerous. He said both men would face the law for engaging in unruly conduct aboard an aircraft, a setting where any disturbance poses risk to passengers, crew, and the aircraft itself.
Achimugu said the authority is awaiting an official report from the airline to begin full legal action. He noted that the regulator has invested heavily in campaigns warning travellers about the dangers and penalties tied to disruptive behaviour, stressing that no personal dispute justifies such conduct onboard.
After the incident, VeryDarkMan posted a video claiming he confronted Mr Jollof during the fracas, adding fuel to their long-running online conflict. The NCAA said a detailed statement will be released once all reports from the flight crew and the airline are reviewed.
