Fintiri Rejects PDP Move Against Wike

Governor Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri of Adamawa State has taken a clear stand on the rising tension within the Peoples Democratic Party by rejecting the decision to expel the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, Nyesom Wike.

His position was made public on Saturday as party leaders continued to debate the fallout of the national convention in Ibadan.

He explained that the action taken at the convention does not reflect the path he believes the party should follow, especially at a time when internal unity is already under strain. According to him, removing members will only fuel deeper conflict instead of helping the PDP regain its footing.

He stressed that his loyalty remains with the party but said his priority is stability and dialogue. Fintiri noted that the PDP can only regain strength through sincere reconciliation and not through decisions that widen existing cracks.

He called on party stakeholders across the country to pursue peace and work together to rebuild trust among members. He warned that the divisions seen in recent months will not fade unless leaders focus on healing old wounds.

He added that he will continue to support any process that brings members together and restores calm. For him, the party’s future depends on cooperation and a shared commitment to progress.

He restated that his stance comes from a desire to protect the PDP from further turmoil. He maintained that the only path forward is unity built on open conversation and collective responsibility.
