The initiative, championed by FCT Minister Nyesom Wike, seeks to replace firewood and charcoal with liquefied petroleum gas across the territory.

The six-month rollout includes distributing 5,000 gas cylinders across the six area councils, targeting families who rely on firewood and charcoal for cooking. The administration hopes this shift will lower health risks and support a more sustainable Abuja.
