The Peoples Democratic Party has settled on Ibadan as the host city for its upcoming elective convention, marking a major step in its plan to reshape its leadership structure. The decision followed a closed-door meeting of top party figures in Abuja late Thursday.

The announcement came from Adamawa State governor Ahmadu Fintiri, who chairs the convention planning committee. He spoke briefly after the session, confirming that the party will move ahead with the gathering in Oyo State’s capital.

The meeting drew key power brokers, including Oyo State governor Seyi Makinde, PDP National Chairman Umar Damagum, former Senate President Bukola Saraki, and several senior party officials. Their discussions centred on preparing the party for the next phase of its internal rebuilding.
