Benue APC Chairman Demands Zoning Of Senatorial Seat Ahead Of 2027

Benue State Chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Benjamin Omale, has called for the zoning of the Benue South senatorial seat to Ohimini Local Government Area ahead of the 2027 general elections.

Omale made the call on Monday when traditional and political leaders from Ohimini paid him a courtesy visit. He said the area deserves a chance to produce the next senator, adding that “Ohimini Local Government also deserves a seat in the Senate come 2027 by God’s grace.”

The APC chairman urged his kinsmen to rally behind Governor Hyacinth Alia’s re-election bid, describing him as the only suitable candidate to lead Benue State beyond 2027. He praised the governor’s “transformational strides,” which he said have placed the state on the path of progress.

Leader of the delegation, the Ada’Ohimini, Chief Dr. John Ochayi, expressed appreciation to Governor Alia for appointing their son as the state APC chairman. He pledged continued loyalty to the governor and lauded his administration for its development projects.

Ohimini LGA Chairman, Gabriel Adole, also commended residents of the council for their support and unity.

The Benue South senatorial district is currently represented by former Minister Abba Moro from Okpokwu LGA. Moro succeeded former Senate President David Mark, who hails from Otukpo.
