NYSC Begins Verification For Foreign-trained Graduates

The National Youth Service Corps has started the nationwide physical verification of documents for Nigerian graduates who studied abroad and registered for the 2025 Batch ‘C’ Service Year.

According to a statement shared by the NYSC on Sunday night, the exercise will run from Monday, November 10, to Wednesday, November 12, 2025, across designated centres nationwide. The process targets prospective corps members whose credentials have not yet been physically verified after completing their online registration.

The verification will take place in Enugu, Bauchi, Abuja, Kano, Lagos, Osogbo, Port Harcourt, Sokoto, and Yola. The agency urged all participants to appear strictly at the date, time, and venue indicated on their verification slips to ensure orderliness.

Graduates are required to present the original copies of all credentials and travel documents uploaded during registration. Medical graduates must also show their licences, registration certificates, and other professional documents.

For those whose foreign qualifications need official recognition, the NYSC directed that the original Evaluation Letters from the Federal Ministry of Education be submitted at its headquarters in Abuja, while acknowledged copies should be uploaded online.

The Corps warned that only those who are physically verified and cleared will be deployed, exempted, or excluded from national service. It advised participants to strictly follow all instructions and appear as scheduled.

Earlier, the NYSC extended the online registration deadline for Batch ‘C’ mobilisation by 48 hours due to network issues faced by some applicants. The new deadline now expires at midnight on Tuesday, November 11, 2025.

The NYSC said the verification exercise is part of efforts to curb the use of fake or unaccredited foreign certificates, following past reports of degree fraud from institutions abroad.
