A prominent member of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Kwara State, Alhaji Umar Yusuf Aiyelabegan, has died after a brief illness.
Family sources confirmed that the retired police officer passed away on Sunday in Ilorin. His Janaza (Islamic burial prayer) is scheduled to take place today at 2:00 p.m. at his family compound in Agbaji, Ilorin.
Until his death, Aiyelabegan was known as a respected community leader and a strong voice within the APC. He dedicated much of his life to public service, security work, and grassroots development.
Tributes have continued to pour in from friends, political associates, and community members who described him as a selfless leader committed to the progress of his people.
His death marks the passing of yet another influential figure in Kwara’s political landscape, leaving behind a legacy of integrity, service, and community dedication.
