Governor Chukwuma Soludo of the All Progressives Grand Alliance has won at the polling unit of former Anambra governor and Labour Party’s 2023 presidential candidate, Peter Obi.

Obi voted earlier in the day at Umudimakasi, Agulu Ward 2, Polling Unit 008, where residents gathered to witness the exercise. The unit attracted wide attention as observers awaited the outcome from the hometown of one of Nigeria’s most influential political figures.

When the ballots were counted, Soludo secured victory with 19 votes, placing him ahead of Nicholas Chukwujekwu of the All Progressives Congress, who garnered 10 votes. The Young Progressives Party followed with four votes, while the Peoples Democratic Party received one vote.
The result added to early trends showing Soludo performing strongly in parts of Anambra Central and South senatorial districts.
Residents at the polling unit described the process as peaceful, with officials of the Independent National Electoral Commission completing the collation without disruption.
