Human rights activist and former presidential candidate, Omoyele Sowore, has accused Senator Ned Nwoko and the Inspector General of Police, Kayode Egbetokun, of being behind the alleged unlawful detention of Samuel Ojeogwu, better known as Sammy West, the younger brother of actress Regina Daniels.

In a statement shared on his social media page, Sowore claimed that Nwoko used his influence and political connections to work with the police leadership in detaining Sammy West at the Keffi Prison in Nasarawa State. He described the action as an abuse of power and a reflection of growing impunity within the country’s political and law enforcement circles.

According to Sowore, the detention was politically motivated and part of a broader pattern of oppression involving some sections of the police and the judiciary. He said the situation reflects what he called an ongoing alliance between powerful individuals and security institutions to silence citizens who challenge their authority.
