Members of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Ilorin East Local Government Area of Kwara State have directed all aspirants for elective positions in the 2027 general elections to seek the endorsement of Governor AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq before pursuing their ambitions.

The directive was issued during a stakeholders’ meeting held at the Ilorin East APC Secretariat in Sabo-Oke, Ilorin. Party leaders described Ilorin East as the biggest beneficiary of AbdulRazaq’s administration, saying the area had never witnessed such levels of development and appointments.

They resolved that the 2027 polls would be “a payback time” for the governor in appreciation of his performance and support for the community.

Speaking at the event, the governor’s Senior Adviser and Counselor, Alhaji Saadu Salahu, said Ilorin East enjoyed unprecedented recognition under AbdulRazaq’s leadership.
“The benefits to our local government under Governor AbdulRazaq are unequalled. We have two commissioners, members of the Muslim Pilgrims Board, senior special assistants, and even the rector of Kwara State Polytechnic, Ilorin, who is from Ilorin East,” he said.

The Chairman of Ilorin East Local Government, Hon. Lukman Garba Agbelere, commended the governor for his developmental efforts, saying the area had never fared better. “We await the governor’s directive on the way to go in 2027,” he said.
Ilorin East APC Chairman, Hon. Habeeb Ajibola Lawal, and the Commissioner for Agriculture, Dr. Afeez Abolore, also called for unity within the party, saying AbdulRazaq remained the rallying point for progress in the state.
Alhaja Kubura Kasum thanked the governor for locating the Kwara State University of Education in Alalubosa, while other speakers, including Alhaji Usman Bibire Ajape, urged members to remain loyal to the governor and the APC ahead of the 2027 elections.
Party leaders and government officials from Ilorin East attended the meeting, which ended with a collective pledge to support AbdulRazaq’s political direction in the coming polls.
