ADC Accuses APC Of Moves To Weaken Opposition In Kaduna

The African Democratic Congress (ADC) in Kaduna State has accused the All Progressives Congress (APC) of plotting to destabilise opposition parties ahead of the 2027 elections.

The ADC claimed that the ruling party was sponsoring internal crises within opposition ranks to weaken their coordination and strength in the state.

Speaking after a stakeholders’ meeting in Kaduna, ADC National Vice Chairman for the North-West, Jafar Sani, said certain elements had been planted to create confusion and hinder the ongoing restructuring of the party. He alleged that some of these individuals had gone as far as filing court cases against party leaders, including former Kaduna governor Nasir El-Rufai, to sow division.

According to Sani, a group of expelled members had falsely claimed to suspend the ADC State Chairman, Elder Patrick Didam Ambut, in what he described as part of a broader campaign to infiltrate and fracture the opposition. He said the State Working Committee, under Ambut’s leadership, had ratified the expulsion of Deputy Chairman Ahmed Tijjani Mustapha and eight others for insubordination and anti-party conduct.

Sani added that several members, including Hon. Adamu Ahmed Dattijo, Alhaji Suleiman Abdullahi, and Senator Musa Bello, had been blacklisted for taking internal disputes to court without following the party’s conflict resolution procedures. He also announced the reinstatement of Senator Nenadi Usman and Alhaji Muhammad Bashir Saidu as Chairman and Co-Chairman of the ADC coalition in the state.

Reaffirming his leadership, Elder Patrick Didam Ambut said the party remained united and focused on its goals. He warned that the ADC would not tolerate indiscipline or selfish interests that could derail its mission, stressing that the party was determined to remain a major force in Kaduna politics.

Ambut urged members to stay committed and resilient, describing the ADC as the vehicle that would drive political change and challenge the dominance of the ruling party in 2027.
