Arise Television news anchor and producer, Somtochukwu Christelle Maduagwu, was laid to rest on Saturday in her hometown, Agulu, in Anaocha Local Government Area of Anambra State.
The funeral drew several dignitaries, including the 2023 Labour Party presidential candidate, Peter Obi, as well as leaders of the All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA) and other prominent figures.

A burial mass was held at St. Theresa Catholic Church, Agulu, where Rev. Fr. Peter Ezewuzie led the service and delivered the homily.
Maduagwu, known for her professionalism and calm on-screen presence, was celebrated by colleagues and mourners who described her passing as a painful loss to Nigerian journalism.
