The Director-General of the Progressive Governors Forum (PGF), Folorunso Aluko, says the All Progressives Congress (APC) is on track to govern at least 30 states across Nigeria before the end of 2027.

Following the defection of Enugu State Governor Peter Mbah from the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) to the APC, the ruling party now controls 24 of the country’s 36 states. Aluko made the projection on Thursday during the PGF’s quarterly strategy meeting of commissioners for information from APC-governed states held in Maiduguri, Borno State.

He said the forum is currently reviewing its achievements and refining its communication strategy to ensure that the party’s governance outcomes reflect positively on citizens’ lives. According to him, the APC remains confident in its growth trajectory under the leadership of President Bola Tinubu and the progressive governors.

“As we move toward 2027, our conviction remains strong. The APC will grow stronger, our states will expand in number, and our people will prosper,” he said. Aluko expressed optimism that the number of APC-controlled states will rise from 24 to at least 30 by the next election cycle.
Drawing a parallel between governance and a relay race, Aluko said leadership requires continuity and shared responsibility to sustain national progress. He urged commissioners to communicate government achievements effectively, telling Nigeria’s story with truth and empathy while amplifying the concerns of citizens.
He assured that the Tinubu administration, working alongside APC governors, is committed to building a united and prosperous nation where governance delivers tangible results for all Nigerians. “With focus, partnership, and the will of the people, the APC will continue to strengthen its foundation for a nation full of hope,” he said.
