In a statement issued on Wednesday in Abuja, the forum’s national president, Murtala Gamji, said the group would not allow politicians to use Kanu’s case to stir unrest or promote their ambitions.

Gamji accused Atiku and Sowore of trying to politicize Kanu’s ongoing terrorism trial, urging them to allow the judicial process to run its course.

He reaffirmed the group’s support for President Bola Tinubu, saying northern youths would not be part of any protest linked to calls for Kanu’s release.

“The planned rally to free Nnamdi Kanu is not about justice but selfish political interests,” Gamji said.

He announced that the NNYLF would stage a pro-Tinubu rally in Abuja from October 20 to 23 to show solidarity with the president and his administration.

The group also warned Sowore to avoid actions or comments that could incite the public against the government.
