Former Lagos governorship candidate Abdul-Azeez Adediran, better known as Jandor, has predicted that President Bola Tinubu will have an easy win in the 2027 presidential election.

Jandor, who defected from the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) to the All Progressives Congress (APC) earlier this year, said the circumstances that led to Tinubu losing Lagos to Labour Party’s Peter Obi in 2023 will not happen again. Speaking on Channels Television’s Politics Today on Thursday, he said his Lagos for Lagos movement is now firmly back in the APC and ready to deliver victory.

He argued that Tinubu’s political influence now extends far beyond Lagos, giving him the advantage for a landslide nationwide. According to him, the president’s courage and leadership have strengthened his chances ahead of the polls.

Tinubu had won the 2023 presidential race against Atiku Abubakar of the PDP, Obi of the Labour Party, and others, though his loss in Lagos was seen as symbolic at the time.
Jandor, who rejoined the APC in March, said he is focused on contesting the 2027 Lagos governorship election. He described the APC as a party with a winning spirit and insisted he would give the seat another shot.
He also reacted to speculations that Seyi Tinubu, the president’s son, may run for the Lagos governorship, saying he is qualified to contest and that party members would rally behind whoever emerges as the APC candidate.
