Sources within the party revealed in Abuja on Wednesday that discussions are ongoing, and the leadership is trying to reach agreement before the 103rd National Executive Committee meeting on October 15. The report of the zoning arrangement is expected to be presented at that meeting.
The delay, according to insiders, stems from the inability of party leaders to meet and harmonise positions. Without consensus, the zoning blueprint cannot be completed.
At the PDP national secretariat, officials avoided direct comments, further fueling speculation about internal disagreements.
The uncertainty has left aspirants and stakeholders unsettled, as their chances of clinching top positions depend on how the zoning map is eventually drawn. With the convention fast approaching, all eyes are now on the party leadership to deliver a workable arrangement.
