Rhodes Vivour Denies Leaving Labour Party

Former Lagos governorship candidate Gbadebo Rhodes-Vivour has dismissed claims that he abandoned the Labour Party, saying his focus remains on building a coalition that can challenge the dominance of the ruling parties.

Speaking on a television programme on Monday, Rhodes-Vivour explained that his political journey has consistently placed him in the opposition, and that his move to work with other groups does not mean he has dumped Labour.

He noted that divisions within the Labour Party have produced factions with different approaches, with one side aligning with efforts to form a wider coalition. According to him, the African Democratic Congress (ADC) has been adopted as part of this coalition structure.

Rhodes-Vivour confirmed that he is now a registered member of the ADC, stressing that the party is working closely with Obidient supporters in Lagos. He described the coalition drive as a step towards strengthening opposition politics and building a platform that can better represent the aspirations of Nigerians.
