Mark’s emergence as interim chairman followed the resignation of Ralph Nwosu in July, after which the party’s National Executive Committee empowered itself to act in place of a national convention until further notice. At a ceremony held at the Yar’Adua Conference Centre in Abuja, Mark was presented as leader alongside other officers.

The Commission’s latest recognition formally settles disputes that had divided the party in recent weeks, with factions questioning the legitimacy of the new leadership.

Other key officers listed by INEC include Akibu Dalhatu as National Financial Secretary and former Edo State governor, Professor Oserheimen Osunbor, as National Legal Adviser.

With the dispute resolved, the ADC leadership under Mark is now positioned to play an active role in ongoing coalition talks ahead of the 2027 elections. Party insiders say the recognition provides stability and gives the ADC a stronger footing among opposition parties working to challenge the ruling APC in the next general election.
