The Ekiti State University (EKSU) Alumni Association has commenced work on a landmark project with the foundation laying of its Alumni Centre for Leadership, Governance and Entrepreneurship in Ado-Ekiti.

The ceremony was jointly conducted by the association’s Global President, Ambassador Seyi Idowu, and the Vice Chancellor of EKSU, Prof. Joseph Babatola Ayodele, alongside other top alumni leaders including Dr. Isaac Akinleye, who represented the chairman of the Board of Trustees, and Vice President 1, Mrs. Folasade Olusegun Olaofe.

Speaking at the event, Idowu outlined the vision for the centre, revealing that it will feature three conference rooms, a 50-seater hall, two 30-seater halls, a fully digitised 100-seater hall, offices, a gallery to serve as a repository of history and a wall of fame, as well as a mini library.

Prof. Ayodele commended the association for what he described as a historic and transformative initiative that will leave a lasting mark on the university community.
In a statement, the association’s Global Public Relations Officer, Adetunji Aribasoye, described the project as a milestone that will serve as a hub for leadership, governance, entrepreneurship, and legacy preservation. He added that the initiative reflects the association’s commitment to building a centre of excellence that future generations of alumni can look up to.
The project is expected to become a rallying point for EKSU graduates worldwide, strengthening the institution’s alumni network and deepening its impact on society.
