Electricity consumers across Abuja and other parts of the country were left without power as distribution companies awaited restoration from the Transmission Company of Nigeria. The collapse worsened the struggles of households and businesses already dealing with unstable supply and rising energy costs.

Efforts are underway to stabilise the grid and restore electricity, but no timeline has yet been given for full recovery. The incident marks another setback for Nigeria’s power sector, which has faced repeated grid collapses in recent years.
