APC Says It Remains Focused On Governance Not 2027 Politics

The Lagos State chapter of the All Progressives Congress has dismissed claims by Bauchi State Governor, Bala Mohammed, that the ruling party and the Federal Government are more concerned with electioneering ahead of 2027 than with governance.

In a statement issued on Friday, Lagos APC spokesman, Seye Oladejo, described the governor’s remarks as misplaced. He said President Bola Tinubu and the APC remain committed to implementing reforms in the economy, security, infrastructure, and institutional development.

According to Oladejo, the administration is tackling the challenges of nation-building directly while some opposition figures choose to engage in media posturing. He urged Mohammed to draw lessons from Lagos, which he said has demonstrated what steady and people-driven governance under the APC can deliver.

He stressed that the APC is not distracted by future elections and that when the time comes, the party’s record of performance will serve as its campaign message.

Oladejo added that although the APC respects the right of opposition leaders to express their views, it finds it regrettable that such criticism came from Mohammed. He advised the governor to concentrate on addressing the developmental needs of Bauchi State instead of issuing attacks on the APC and the Federal Government.
