Ogun West Group Pledges 250,000 Votes For Tinubu 2027

The Ogun West Assembly for Tinubu (OWAT) has declared full support for President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s re-election bid in 2027, citing reforms and infrastructure projects that have benefitted both Nigeria and Ogun West.

The group, in an advertorial published over the weekend, said it was committed to mobilising at least 250,000 votes for the President in the coming election. OWAT, which represents social and political interests of Ogun West Senatorial District, argued that Tinubu had laid “a solid and sustainable foundation” for national development.

Highlighting the administration’s achievements, OWAT pointed to the removal of fuel subsidy, exchange rate unification, debt reduction, and a boost in infrastructure such as the Lagos-Calabar coastal highway and upgrades at Apapa and Lekki ports. It also praised initiatives like the student loan scheme, social health insurance coverage, and cash transfer programmes.

On the economy, the group noted Nigeria’s record stock market performance, improved GDP growth, trade surplus, and increased capital inflow, crediting the progress to Tinubu’s reforms.

OWAT also reserved praise for the President for giving Ogun West greater federal representation, including the appointment of Dr Iziaq Adekunle Salako into the Federal Executive Cabinet and other strategic positions. It added that federal projects such as the Sokoto-Badagry superhighway, Ilara-Ilase road, and the establishment of a Federal University of Technology in Ilaro have brought long-awaited development to the district.

The group promised to repay the gesture by ensuring Tinubu secures more votes from Ogun West than in 2023, when the district delivered 113,167 votes.

“Tinubu deserves a second term to consolidate on reforms, expand industrialisation, and strengthen governance,” OWAT stated, affirming its “irrevocable support” for the 2027 agenda.
