Yilwatda Says APC Will Remain Nigerians Choice In 2027

National Chairman of the All Progressives Congress, Professor Nentawe Yilwatda, has said the results of the weekend by-elections show that Nigerians still trust the ruling party and will continue to support it ahead of the 2027 general elections.

He made the remarks on Monday when party leaders visited his Abuja residence to condole with him over the death of his mother, Mama Lydia Yilwatda, who passed away in Jos at the age of 83.

Yilwatda noted that the APC recorded victories across all geo-political zones where the elections were conducted. He said the outcome proves that the party has gained wide acceptance across the country, with its policies resonating with people at the grassroots.

According to him, opposition strongholds were unable to stop the APC in states such as Kaduna, Kano, Adamawa, and Taraba, a development he described as evidence of the party’s dominance nationwide. He stressed that the party is not only in power but also the most preferred by voters.

The APC chairman explained that the party’s strength lies in its focus on ordinary citizens rather than the elite. He said its progressive programmes are targeted at uplifting the poor and ensuring that policies directly address the needs of the masses.

Yilwatda urged Nigerians to ignore political rhetoric on television and online platforms, insisting that the real measure of acceptance comes from the grassroots where the people decide. He maintained that the level of trust in the APC today is an assurance of victory in 2027.

He concluded that the bold policies of the current administration are creating changes never witnessed before in the country and that these reforms will continue to win the confidence of Nigerians going into the next election cycle.
