Ose Anenih Quits PDP After Years Of Party Loyalty

Ose Anenih, son of the late Chief Tony Anenih, one of the founding fathers of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), has resigned from the party.

His decision was made public in a letter dated August 18, 2025, and addressed to the PDP Ward Chairman of Arue Ward 3 in Uromi, Edo State.

Anenih explained that his exit followed personal reflection and a desire to dedicate more time to his family and other responsibilities. He said the resignation takes immediate effect, describing it as a carefully considered step after many years of involvement in the party.

In his letter, Anenih acknowledged his long-standing bond with the PDP, recalling his commitment to its ideals and the role it has played in shaping his political journey. He expressed gratitude for the friendships, experiences, and opportunities to serve that came through his years in the party.

He stressed that stepping back from partisan politics does not mean abandoning national service. Instead, he pledged to remain engaged in civic and intellectual conversations that promote good governance and improve the lives of citizens. According to him, ideas and principled debate remain vital to Nigeria’s democratic growth, and he intends to contribute through those platforms.

Anenih also extended appreciation to the PDP leadership and members for their support over the years. He wished the party success in future endeavors while expressing hope for a Nigeria that delivers on its promise to all citizens.
