Former House of Assembly candidates of the All Progressives Congress in Enugu State have urged Governor Peter Mbah to join the party before the 2027 general elections.
In a letter dated August 11 and presented to the media on Monday, the group’s coordinator, Godwin Onwusi, said opposition politics had brought them “more harm than good” and argued that Mbah’s leadership aligns with President Bola Tinubu’s Renewed Hope Agenda.
The letter praised the governor’s “unprecedented” development achievements in less than two years and claimed his defection would strengthen the APC in Enugu, improve relations with the Federal Government, and bring economic benefits to the state.
The group added that Mbah’s policies already reflect the federal development vision and said they were eager to welcome him into the party.
