Two Ministers, Six Other Senior Govt Officials Died In Ghana Helicopter Crash

Ghana is in mourning following the tragic death of eight senior government officials and military personnel in a helicopter crash in the southern Ashanti region on Wednesday.

Among those confirmed dead are Defence Minister Edward Omane Boamah and Minister of Environment Ibrahim Murtala Mohammed. The ill-fated military helicopter was reportedly en route from the capital, Accra, to the mining town of Obuasi when it crashed under yet-to-be-determined circumstances.

In a statement released Wednesday, Julius Debrah, Chief of Staff to the Ghanaian President, provided a list of other casualties in the crash.
