Factional leader of the Labour Party, Nenadi Usman, has blamed the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) for what she describes as worsening living conditions across Nigeria.

Usman, who addressed reporters in Kaduna on Saturday, said Nigerians are facing deep economic hardship, insecurity, and growing unemployment. She noted that the situation has reached levels not seen before and accused the APC of failing to deliver on its promises.

She also responded to recent defections from the Labour Party, dismissing fears that the party’s structure is crumbling. According to her, the defections are opportunistic moves by individuals seeking personal gain, and they do not reflect the will of the majority.

Despite the internal shifts, Usman said the party remains strong and committed to its mission. She admitted that mistakes were made in past candidate selections but added that lessons have been learned. The focus now, she said, is on choosing credible candidates who genuinely share the party’s vision for a better Nigeria.
She called on aggrieved members to let go of past grievances and work together as the party prepares for upcoming activities, including a national membership update, state congresses, and a national convention backed by its national executive council.
Usman expressed confidence that the Labour Party still enjoys grassroots support and will continue to play a major role in shaping Nigeria’s political future.
