Onaiwu, who once served as the pioneer Director-General of the PDP Governors’ Forum, said on Thursday that the rumours were the work of political saboteurs bent on destabilising the party ahead of its national convention.

“There is no rift between Governor Makinde and former Governor Wike. Both men remain committed party leaders and loyal members of the PDP family,” he said.
He accused those pushing the narrative of trying to disrupt the unity displayed at the party’s recent strategic meeting.
Onaiwu said preparations for the convention are progressing smoothly, with decisions on the venue and procedures jointly agreed by the National Working Committee, the National Executive Committee, and other party stakeholders, including INEC officials.
He urged the public to ignore reports of internal crisis, stating that the PDP remains focused and united as it builds towards the 2027 elections.
“Our mission is clear, our ranks are united, and our vision is focused on delivering competent leadership to Nigerians once again,” he said.
