PDP Leader Joins 2027 Oyo Assembly Race

Ayo Owoseni, a prominent figure in the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) in Ibadan South-West Local Government of Oyo State, has declared his intention to run for a seat in the Oyo State House of Assembly come 2027.

Owoseni made the announcement during a party meeting held at IMG Primary School in the Apata-Ganga area of Ibadan. Addressing party members, he explained that his strong ties to the community and deep understanding of local politics made him the right choice to represent the constituency.

Having lived his entire life in the area, Owoseni noted that his early education and political growth all happened within the local government. He said this long-standing presence has given him a clear view of the challenges facing the people, and he believes he is in a good position to address those issues through legislative work.

Drawing inspiration from President Bola Tinubu’s popular campaign line “Emi lo kan,” Owoseni said it was his turn to serve, having contributed actively to the party for many years. He believes it is time the party rewards loyalty with opportunity.

His ambition received a warm reception at the meeting, with key party figures throwing their weight behind him. Hon. Michael Omotoso, chairman of Ward 12, described Owoseni as a dedicated grassroots politician who knows the constituency well. He urged members to give him their full backing.

Another party leader, Yinka Balogun, also spoke in support of the aspirant. He said Owoseni’s track record speaks for itself and expressed hope that his representation would bring genuine progress to the community. He also advised him on how to remain focused on his goal.

With strong support already forming around his candidacy, Owoseni’s bid for the Oyo Assembly appears to be gaining ground early. The race is still two years away, but his declaration has added energy to local political conversations in Ibadan South-West.
