I’m the most qualified to represent Ibadan North federal constituency at NASS — Yinka Agboola

A contestant for Ibadan North federal constituency seat in the House of Representatives on the platform of Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), has said given his ex-posure and upbringing in the constituency, he is more qualified to vie for the seat.

Agboola, an Information Technology expert, specialising in Project Management in the United Kingdom (UK) before returning to Nigeria to establish own business, said he is prepared for the role, adding that he is ready to offer better and effective representation to
the constituents.

He said the new Oyo State being developed by Governor Seyi Makinde
called for capable hands that will join him in achieving his dreams, adding that
he is sure that if elected, the people of Ibadan North federal constituency will be the better for it.

He promised to sponsor sponsor bills to improve the socioeconomic well-being of Nigerians in the area of economy, employment creation, corporate social
responsibility, education, women empowerment, health and agriculture.

He said one of the first tasks at the National Assembly is to rally other
lawmakers from the state to pressurise the Federal Ministry of Works to refund
all the money the state government had expended on repair and construction of
federal roads in the state.

This, he said, would help Governor Makinde, who he believed had done more to earn a deserved victory for a second term, to have more funds to construct and rehabilitate more roads in the state for the benefits of the people.

He said his next focus would be to lobby federal agencies to provide loans and grants to entrepreneurs and traders in the constituency and Oyo State at large.

“It will interest you to know that two biggest international markets, namely
the Bodija International Food Market and the Bodija International Plank Market
are both situated in my federal constituency.

“These entrepreneurs should be supported with single digit loans to increase their capital base. There is also the need for more presence of Federal Government projects in Oyo State,” he said.

He also promised to train youths in the areas of information technology through
partnership with the Federal Ministry of Science and Technology.

He said having come a family that is renowned in Ibadan, with his father being the Baale Onipako of Ibadanland, after his demise, the family launched a foundation in his memory, Mafoya Foundation, where medical intervention, education scholarship are being provided.

Speaking on the achievements of Governor Makinde, he described him as an amiable man who has been meticulously providing an example of how leadership should be, adding that the various infrastructural projects embarked upon by the
administration is there for all to see.
