Ikoyi Club Suspends Billionaire Alakija’s Husband, Modupe Over Alleged Assault

Popular Ikoyi Club, Lagos has suspended Modupe Alakija, the husband of billionaire, Folorunsho “for physically assaulting and abusing a fellow member.”

A statement by Bamidele Ibironke, secretary of the club, did not explain when and where the assault took place and the name of the member involved.

In a notice, the club said the suspension would run from December 2021 to November 2022.

The notice, which had Modupe’s image and other details read, “The above-named member of the Club is hereby placed on a one-year suspension from the Club for physically assaulting and abusing a fellow member, conduct injurious to the interest of the Club, thereby violating Rule 9(C) of the Club’s Rule Book.
