Appointment of one of the loyalists of Senator Biodun Olujimi as Chairman, Ekiti State Environmental Protection Agency (SEPA) by Governor Kayode Fayemi is causing major crisis in the group.
Hon. Anifowose Badejo, who was among those nominated into the Ondo State PDP governorship election campaign committee was among those appointed by Governor Fayemi on Thursday.
At an emergency meeting of the Olujimi group held at a hotel in Ado Ekiti on Friday, Anifowose Badejo was accused of betrayal.
When Anifowose was asked how he got appointed as Board Chairman by Governor Fayemi, he was said to have explained that it was Otunba Yinka Akerele, leader of the Olujimi’s Strategy Team that called him for the appointment.
“The slot was given to Ajinde (Yinka Akerele) and he nominated me,” Anifowose said at the meeting yesterday evening.
At the meeting were Kehinde Odebunmi, Ebenezer Oladipo (Papapa), Sanya Adesua (Perrow), one Olu Omo from Ogotun Ekiti, Yemisi Afolabi and others.
It should be recalled that there had been reports of political alliance between Olujimi and Governor Fayemi, with Prince Dayo Adeyeye alleging that Governor Fayemi assisted Olujimi to get the Ekiti South Senatorial seat at the courts.
