The Rector of Akwa Ibom State Polytechnic, Ikot Osurua, Dr Moses Umobong, has congratulated the Akwa Ibom State Governor, Mr. Udom Emmanuel on the validation of his March 9th, 2019 Governorship victory in the state.

In a statement issued to newsmen shortly after the judgement of the apex court, the Rector said the judicial confirmation of the votes Akwa Ibom people gave the Governor is a further proof that power comes from God and that only the people can choose who they want as their leader and called on all to join hands with the administration to move the state forward for the good of the people.

He expressed optimism that with the legal distraction now laid to rest, the Governor is now focused to vigorously implement his completion agenda and urged Akwa Ibom people to keep faith with the administration.

“We have only one state. Akwa Ibom belongs to all of us. This is the time for us all to unite irrespective of party differences. This is the only state we have and there can only be one Governor at a time. We must always allow the will of God to guide our actions for the greater good”, he stated.
Dr Umobong also used the opportunity to wish the Management, Governing Council, Academic and Non Academic Staff and Students of the Polytechnic, a merry Christmas and a happy new year 2020 in advance.
