Re: A request to intervene for me and Akwa Ibom APC in the supreme court: desperados in high places

Our sanity has once again been violated by compromised characters with despicable dispositions and moral deficits which bear the imprimatur of a regime characterized by underperformance, paranoia and shadow chasing.
The media space is awash with a clearly forged document to the effect that Mr. Nsima Ekere, the Governorship Candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in the March 9, 2019 elections has written to President Muhammadu Buhari seeking “intervention” on his behalf and that of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Akwa Ibom State in the Governorship Appeal pending at the Supreme Court. The said letter goes on to conjure up other inanities.
Clearly this is the handiwork of detractors and mischief mongers who are close to the corridors of power in Akwa Ibom State.
For the avoidance of all doubts, Mr. Nsima Ekere has not conceived and did not write the letter or any other one for that matter.
It is the well-founded belief of the All Progressives Congress (APC) and indeed majority of Akwa Ibomites across party divides that the Governorship election of March 9, 2019 in Akwa Ibom State was anything but free, fair and credible. It was marred by the worst form of brigandage. Hence we have maintained that the process that took place in Akwa Ibom State on the 9th of March was totally at variance with the provisions of the law, not known to the Electoral Act, to the guidelines for the elections given by INEC neither the manual for electoral officers. We are entitled to this view in spite of the decisions handed down so far by the Tribunal and Appeal Court in favour of the PDP. It is this unwavering belief and entitlement in Law that propels our further appeal to the Supreme Court.
No amount of name-calling, fabrications or scare-mongering will deter us from pressing on to the end of this tortuous legal journey. We have implicit faith in our judicial system despite obvious reservations. In all, we have no choice than to rest our case on the fallibility of finality of the Supreme Court. This is what is expected in decent societies and not throwing tantrums or casting aspersion.
For whatever it is worth, the ‘white’ letterhead deployed in this immoral enterprise cannot be the letterhead of the APC in Akwa Ibom State since the authentic letterhead is of a superior print quality and of a different colour. Strangely enough, this letterhead does not even have an address printed on it, but same is typed and bears same alphabetical font with the body of the poorly written literature.
In addition, since the authors of the balderdash do not know any better, let it be known that Mr. Ekere does not sign off with a green pen. HE is not a Commissioner and as an ordinary citizen of the Federal Republic, it will be completely out of place for him to sign a document with a green ink restricted in officialdom to specific layers of authority.
Also, Mr. Nsima Ekere, the primary target of this misadventure, as in all others, is not an officer of the All Progressives CONGRESS (APC) and is not expected to use the letterhead of the Party for any reason whatsoever. Besides, His Excellency, Mr. Nsima Ekere has been out of the country for days prior to the release of this fake letter.
The hijackers of our common patrimony have achieved transient success thus far in pillaging our resources and riding roughshod on the will of Akwa Ibom people by subverting the choice of Akwa Ibom people through the manipulation of the electoral umpire – yet they fail and will never take away the finesse in expression, clinical disposition and temperament and error-free speech pattern and erudition of Obong Nsima Ekere. The incoherence that gallops through the paragraphs of the piece of forgery only appeals to those who have gained notoriety for amorous romps in the corridors of power and their CRUMB-EATING minions. It certainly bears no SEMBLANCE to Mr. Nsima Ekere – whether in character, style or form.
Any cursory observer will easily locate a corollary between this wayward contraption, previous, similar or related ones and their counterparts usually manufactured from the official mill of the State. This act by every intent and purpose is meant to portray President Muhammadu Buhari as dishonest and mirror him in bad light as complicit in subterranean moves to compromise the apex Court. It is further contrived to intimidate and stampede their Lordships at the Supreme Court to do their bidding. For this reason, we call on security agencies – particularly the Department of State Security (DSS) to investigate this grievous allegation and expose the characters and their sponsors for what they are.
This resort to forgery and scam is a pointer to the phyrric nature of their victory at the Tribunal and Appeal Court. Their body language is already beginning to suggest that they expect that victory to be overturned. It has often been said that those who procure judgement like they did in 2015, think others will join them in their dirty games.
Obong Nsima Ekere will not. So please do not associate his name with any strategy that stands justice on its head.
