The Peoples Democratic Party in Ekiti State has described the United State of America decision not to grant entry visa to the governor of Ekiti State Dr Kayode Fayemi as a well deserved treatment for election rigger.
The Party said that the action of the American embassy didn’t come as a shock because it only confirmed the true position that the last Governorship election in the State was badly rigged for Fayemi despite warnings from the international communities that visa restrictions would be placed on election riggers.
PDP made this assertions in Ado Ekiti in a statements which was made available to journalists by the Party’s Publicity Secretary in the State, Mr Jackson Adebayo.
According to the Party, most of the Governors of the all Progressive Congress and the presidency had thought that they would always go away with wanton destruction of democratic ethos in their selfish attempt to rule by force without considering the consequences.
The Party however commended the USA for living by her promise of visa restrictions to those who partake in election manipulation in the country, saying that this action will serve as a deterent to others who see rigging as an element of democracy at least to a certain extent.
The Party maintained her position that the last year governorship election results was a product of a gross manipulation even after the election petition tribunals erroneously accorded Governor Fayemi legitimacy.
“We are however happy that our claims on the election has been validated by the visa ban on the governor and others who are the beneficiaries of the APC machinery of absurdity ”
The Party called on the international communities to beam their watching light on Kogi and Bayesa State elections where the same APC rigging strategies are being perfected because the leadership of APC is awared that it can not win any election in Nigeria unless through ballot snatching, figure manipulation and concoction through intimidating and inducement.
“We want to authoritatively intimate the international communities that the 10 Billion Naira loan just aprroved for the government of Kogi State was specially designed to buy vote and security during the election while the minister of State of petroleum, Chief Timpere Silva have mobilised Billions of Naira from the Nigeria National Petroleum Corporation (NNPC) for the Bayelsa State election ”
