Armed policemen are laying siege to the offices of the Sahara Reporters Committee for the Defence of Human Rights (CDHR) in Lagos.
The officers, who are armed to the teeth, arrived on the CDHR, Adeniyi Jones, Ikeja, Lagos office early today to stop a planned protest against the detention of Omoyele Sowore, convener of the #RevolutionNow movement.
The siege is believed to be to prevent a protest from being held in the area.
Our correspondent also gathered that officers of the Department of State Services (DSS) are laying siege to the premises of Sahara Reporters in Lagos.
The publisher of Sahara Reporters, Omoyele Sowore, has been in detention for several weeks for organising a protest against the federal government.
The government accused him of terrorism and plotting to overthrow President Muhammadu Buhari.
